Le Cinquième élément (Original title)The Fifth Element (Alternative title)
Date: 1997 (Copyright)

Countries: France, Ukrainian SSR

Director: Luc Besson

Synopsis: Science fiction. In 2259 Earth is suddenly threatened by a massive collision with a huge planet. Conventional weapons only seem to add to the planet's power. The seeming planet contains a huge evil force or entity. An alien civilization attempts to aid Earth by sending it the only hope to counter the force - the "fifth element" entity. The vessel carrying it crashes though, but through regeneration technology the entity is re-formed and appears in the shape of a young woman. She escapes and falls in with ex-military man and taxi driver Korben Dallas, who hides and assists her, with the help of the religious mystic Cornelius. They attempt to utilise her to save the Earth whilst having to ward off and battle against the psychopathic arms dealer and gang leader Zorg, who tries to prevent them at the instigation of the evil entity.
